sick day

After Kate left for school- I spotted a checklist she was working on:

MORNING
get up
eat Cherios/rasberries
Sophie's note
(she left a note for Sophie because she was staying home from school sick-with a list of which of her stuffed animals Sophie could play with until she returned home)
shoes
make lunch
bow bun :)
coat
bus stop
:)

(all smiley faces were written in...right side up)

At home Sophie and I finished BECAUSE OF MR. TERUPT.  We just had a few pages left.  I read aloud at the foot of her bed...fighting back (and failing) tears.  She loved it so much she wanted to read the next one on her own.  With a box of Kleenex and a trash can by her side she began.

then by all means...

"If you hear a voice with you say you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced." -Vincent VanGogh

I am 44 years old today.
Sometimes we believe that what is going on today---is what is possible.
Not this year...
Turning 44 I choose to seek out dreams...
dreams of not only what I want to do but more importantly
who I want to BE.
It will be the best year yet.
