photo field trip

We had a mother-daughter field trip.
Combining our love for photography with these sweet girls of ours was a recipe for a perfect day.

swinging at sunset

I was nestled next to Danny on the couch, catching up on our day.  I noticed an orange glow pouring in through the windows from the sunset.  Then from the couch with the windows shut I heard singing from the back yard.  I grabbed my camera and attempted to capture the joy Sophie was creating in the backyard as the sun was setting.

Pears 4 sale

There isn't a harder worker than BigD.  I love this image of him at such a young age selling fruit in his front yard with Michel and Todd Nuttall.

her apartment

On the phone, the second I suggested bringing Ellie to DC for her birthday- Annie's invitation was immediate.  She not only invited us to stay in her beautiful apartment- she had food in her refrigerator for us, Shakespeare play tickets, ideas of where to eat and what to see.  It wouldn't have been the same trip with out her thoughtfulness.

leaving on a jet plane

For Ellie's 14th birthday we chose to celebrate in Washington DC.
We were excited for the trip and anxious to have the plane land in the city.
Making our approach we experienced some crazy turbulence.  Just as the wheels were to touchdown the plane went straight up back in the air.  The runway wasn't clear so we had to re-ascend.  Back up through the turbulence.  Poor Ellie's face lost all color completely.  She hadn't eaten anything but the complementary pretzels since that morning for breakfast.  We were so grateful for the provided air-sickness bags.
