first day of school

 THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

These Davis girls all got up early and on their own!

They are pretty excited to enter their new grades: 9th, 7th and 4th!!!!!

 Our back to school dinner consisted of:

lasagna, salad, San Pelegrino blood orange drink, crusty sourdough bread 

and european chocolate for dessert

Yesterday:

"Mom, do you want to hear the song I wrote?"

"You wrote a song!?" I asked in total surprise.

To believe in yourself...
know that you can do anything you dream of doing,
without waiting for a class,
certification,
piece of paper,
or expert to tell you that you are enough...

that is what I am supposed to teach her,
yet that is exactly what she teaches me...
over and over and over again.

She wrote her second song today.

It has been two and a half years... here
to say she was excited to have her braces removed would be an understatement!

sweet

I think almost weekly Danny will look my way when we are with our girls- he whispers "so sweet."  And I think to myself, "how did we get so lucky?"

Taylors (Tom + Tammy) were in town and we decided to party with Dede at their pool.

12 YEARS OLD

I want to always remember that the day you turned 12 I took you on an afternoon date.  We went to lunch (you chose Mikados) and then shopping.  As we shopped you made your purchases from your own wallet.  You were careful about your purchases and handled yourself with ease with the cashier.  You looked so grown up.  Yet on this same date you also confided that you had previously thought you would give up sleeping with stuffed animals at 12...you decided today that you would at least wait until you are 14.  I am so grateful that although you are growing up quickly, you are still our little girl.

Cameron with Jacinto Peterson- is Vice Principal.  "Juice" played football with Danny.  It was so great to see him again!  He is so loved by the students of Valley High.
